About

Why FKS exists

Human beings were built to move. FKS uses kettlebell training to develop that capability through structured coaching and progressive training.

We hinge. We squat. We carry. We push. We pull. We rotate. We brace. We produce force.

FKS uses kettlebell training to develop these fundamental human capabilities through structured coaching and progressive training. Not random sessions — a system with a reason behind every movement.

Brandan's story

I found kettlebell training because I wanted to give people and athletes something new. I had trained all my life and was knowledgeable about weight training and bodybuilding, but during my basketball days I realized the work I was doing in the gym wasn't really transferring to the sport. It made my body look good, but I didn't feel as functional as I wished I felt as an athlete.

As I thought about athletes, I knew I wanted to get into basketball strength and conditioning, but I didn't want to just be a personal trainer. I wanted to go outside of that. I came across Functional Kettlebell Training, signed up, and once I took the course I was amazed by what this type of training could do for basketball players, athletes, and everyday people who want to get into better shape and get stronger.

Once I got certified and started running classes, I really saw what kettlebell training and functional movement could do for people. It transforms them and pushes them to a limit where they see themselves becoming more capable. In the classes I've run so far, I see people becoming truly resilient. I also see the connection it brings to families, where children get to watch their parents work hard.

Kettlebells became a great tool for me. Through kettlebell training, I learned that people enjoy being able to do more than just lift. They get their whole body to move, load, and target the functions they use every day. That's where I realized people need Functional Kettlebell Strength. Building strength through functional kettlebell movements can bring transformation to anyone's lifestyle, whether you're an athlete, a parent, or someone who just wants to perform at a high level. FKS is what I realized can truly bring that to people right now, as we shift away from bodybuilding and toward being athletically capable and functional.
